What an amazing night with Thirteen Three on Friday!! Encouraging to see how much we can be encouraged by the faith of our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world! I was particularly encouraged seeing some of the letters that were written from SOULIES to be sent to Vietnam. Below are some of the ideas that were brainstormed on what we can do to be bound with the persecuted church.
Ideas to remember/support/encourage the Persecuted church, particularly in Vietnam.
- Think of them
- Feel their pain
- Learn from them.
- Be encouraged by them.
- Speak up for Jesus.
- Stand up for God too! – reminds you of their suffering
- Wear the wrist bands – when people ask what they are, share Rachel’s story.
- Wear the wrist bands – to remind us of them/ to pray for them
- One night at Soulies everyone could write a bible verse and complete a book of the bible.
Have segments where we get:
- updates
- stories of people
- updates
Have a liaison person/ 13:3 representative
Into spot at Sunday@6
Remind other people to remember them and to pray
- Remind your small group via email/text.
- Have sticky note reminders
- Phone reminders
- Computer/ipod/phone background
- Facebook reminders or groups
- A tattoo reminder… (lol)
- Twitter/blog
Put ‘Good spam’ on facebook to keep people aware/think & praying.
Always think about them – love others like they love their brothers and sisters.
Write something in the front of your bible to remind you of them.
Try and understand what they are going through.
Write letters of support
- find out their hopes and prayer points
- Individual contact and prayers – focus on specific people not just in general
- Let them know that they are not alone!
Read about it
- keep updated
- Read newspapers/ watch the news
- find out more

Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
