The following is from 13:3. Used with permission. Pray for persecuted Christians. Iranian pastor Youcef Nadarkhaniis facing execution after refusing to renounce his faith during court hearings held this week.

In July, the Supreme Court instructed the Revolutionary Tribunal of Gilan Province to review his case to verify whether he was previously a practising Muslim. At the recent hearings, the court in Rasht ruled that Pastor Youcef was not a practising Muslim before becoming a Christian. However, he remains guilty of apostasy because of his Muslim ancestry. According to sources, when Pastor Youcef was asked to repent in court, he said:

Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?

When judges told him to return to “the religion of your ancestors, Islam,” Pastor Youcef responded, “I cannot.” Nadarkhani has used up all his chances in the court. “We hear some rumors that he could be executed literally this week – that he’s had now three days which is called for in Islamic law to reconsider his decision, and he could be executed at any time,” reports Todd Nettleton with Voice of the Martyrs USA. MORE INFORMATIONCheck out this news report for more information about Youcef’s case.

URGENT PRAYER NEEDEDPlease share this story with your friends and family and ask them to pray for Youcef Nadarkhani and his family.

  • Please pray that Youcef will be faithful even to death so that he will receive the crown of life (Revelation 2:10).
  • Pray that Christians around the world will take swift and decisive action on Youcef’s behalf.
  • Pray that all charges against him will be dropped.
  • Pray for all Christians in Iran, that they will keep their eyes on Jesus and not be fearful. Pray that persecution will only increase their passion for Christ and their willingness to share their faith.
  • Pray that God will comfort Youcef’s family during this very difficult time.

Operation World: Mali

Hey Girls and Guys,

This Week we are praying for Mali

Todays Country is: Mali

Brief Background

The population was approximately 13,323, 104 in 2010.

The population under the age of 15 is around 44% of that population and the life expectancy of a person living in Mali is 48.1 years.

The Average income per year for each person is $657 where as in Australia it is $46,824 per person.

The Population is made up of 89.4% Sub Saharan Peoples which are made up of 55 different groups. 10.4% of people are Arab/Berber  and the other 0.1% are mostly french people.

The Official language of Mali is french and 19% of people are literate (meaning they can read and write)

87.38% of the population are Muslim, 2.64% Christians, 0.7% are Protestant.

Answers to Prayer:

The Continuing stability , in the midst of poverty, is a reason for praise. Mali stands as a role model of democracy nd stability in a sea of troubled nations, free from the coups, civil wars and shady politics of it neighbors. it remains secular despite strong pressure from neighboring countries to become an Islamic state.

Challenges for Prayer

Even though there is Bible Translation work  that is in progress for 18 languages is a huge blessing, due to the really low level of literacy in Mali we need to be praying for the Christian specialists and support ministries and that they recognise and work with the strong oral tradition in Mali to spread the Gospel.

Pray and thank God for the projects One-Story (IMB) and Listening to the World (UBS) which are two initiatives that train believers to share stories from scripture in a style that connects with Malians.

Well thats it from me, please continue praying for Mali, that the Holy Spirit would work in this country and that the Country would keep their Religious freedom and for God to work through the oral traditions of their culture to reveal himself to those people.

Peace out and God Bless

Hey Girls and Guys,

This Week we are praying for Lebanon

Todays Country is: Lebanon

Brief Background

The population was approximately 4,254,583 in 2010.

The population under the age of 15 is around 25% of that population and the life expectancy of a person living in Lebanon is 71.9 years.

The Average income per year for each person is $7,708 where as in Australia it is $46,824 per person.

The Population is made up of 93.5% Arab and 4.5% Armenian and 1.7% Kurd.

Lebanon is the only Arab state that is not officially Muslim. There are 18 recognised religious communities: 4 are Muslim, 1 Druze, 1 Jewish and 12 Christian.

31.97% of the population are Christians, 23.9% Catholic, 0.35% are Protestant and less than 0.01% are Anglican

Answers to Prayer:

Lebanon remains the only land in the Middle East where all are legally free to change their religious affiliation. Believers from most other Arab countries can more freely come to Lebanon for Christian training. Pray for this religious freedom to be maintained.

Challenges for Prayer

Lebanon has had a tragic history over the past 70 years, with communal wars, foreign interventions and hostage-taking. With adequate political stability, Lebanon has demonstrated great resilience and potential to rebuild.

Pray:
a)
For a government that rules for the common good, balancing traditional values and demographic realities.

b) That Lebanon keeps its religious freedom and gains full political freedom.

c) For the healing of the deep hurt for those who have lost loved ones, homes and jobs as a result of being displaced during the war.

d) A spirit of forgiveness for all those who have suffered, pray that the Holy Spirit might do His work of reconciliation.

e) The rebuilding of the south after multiple wars and occupations. Many unexploded munitions from 2006 make rebuilding dangerous

Well thats it from me, please continue praying for Lebanon, that the Holy Spirit would work in this country and that the Country would keep their Religious freedom and for healing and forgiveness for the people who have endured years of suffering.

Peace out and God Bless

Hey Girls and Guys,

I hope you’re all well and enjoying reading the book of John. So, I thought we’d just get straight into it.

Todays Country is: North Korea

Brief Background

The population was approximately 23,990, 703 in 2010.

The population under the age of 15 is around 22% of that population and the life expectancy of a person living in North Korea is 67.1 years.

The Average income per year for each person is $6, 410 where as in Australia it is $46,824 per person.

The Population is made up of 99.8% Korean and 0.2% Chinese.

The Major Religion in Korea is Cheondogyo, or “Kim II-Sung-ism” (the cult of the deceased leader) All other religions are harshly oppressed. Christianity makes up only 1.48% of that 0.04% are Protestant.

Challenges for Prayer

Due to all other religions being harshly oppressed. The Cheondogyo is a repressive nightmare, where the population are kept ignorant of the outside world and forcibly indoctrinated (brainwashed) into the bizarre doctrines and policies of the “Dear Leader”.

Pray: for the leader and his cadre, that the Holy Spirit might bring them to repentance and belief.

In North Korea possessing a Bible, saying “God” and “Jesus” and meeting as believers are all punishable by death. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have died because of persecution and today, up to 100,000 are in prisons or work camps. The true number of Christians is unknown.

Pray:  for North Korean believers, that they persevere in what is probably the most difficult country in which to be a Christian.

Well thats it from me, please continue praying for North Korea, that the Holy Spirit would work in this country and that the Christians would persevere.

Peace out and God Bless

Hey Guys and Girls, hope your daily bible journal is going well and you’re enjoying reading through John. Today is the first post on Operation World, which really is amazing, encouraging, challenging and an valuable resource for becoming aware about the rest of the world and what it is like for God’s people in it. I hope that you guys are as encouraged as I am, about this book, blog, journal and having the chance to pray for our present and future brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.

Today’s Country is: Jordan

Brief Background

The population was approximately 6,472, 392 in 2010

The population under the age of 15 is around 35% of that population and the life expectancy of a person living in Jordan is 72.4 years

The Average income per year for each person is $3, 626 in Australia it is $46,824 per person

The Major Religion in Jordan is Islam which is 96.47% of the population followed by Christianity which is 2.24% of that 0.23% are Protestant and 0.06% are Anglican

Challenges for Prayer

Due to the rising religious tension religious freedom could soon become a casualty. Jordan is the centre for a lot of Christian ministries and activities and great deal of other Christian work that happens in the Middle East, if this happens it’ll be a massive set back for the spread of the gospel.

A lot of the converts have a lot of pressure from their families, work, and society and find life really difficult at times, and emigration (which means leaving the country) is often seen as a safe and obvious option.

Pray: for the freedom to proclaim the gospel and for followers of Jesus to be able to remain in Jordan.

For a link with more information on Jordan from the operation world website and idea’s for prayer go to: www.operationworld.org/jord

Well thats it for this week guys, keep on keeping on with your prayer and reading of John and I’ll see you friday

Peace out Homies

God Bless You

Your Sister in Christ

Ellen
